The York House Inn Bed & Breakfast

The York House Inn is Georgia’s oldest bed and breakfast, and is proudly listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Guests experience romance, relaxation and unsurpassed hospitality while enjoying a fine selection of accommodations with period antiques and private baths recalling the “resort era.”

The original home dates from the 1840’s, the dove tailed chestnut log construction is visible in our sundries area off the living room and in the former servants quarters in our lower level. The Inn began operating in 1896, and expanded in 1907 to care for workers building The Tallulah Falls Railroad, and then boarders and vacationers to the area.

We are nestled in a picturesque valley or gap, at the beginning of the Appalachian Trail. Our view of the Little Tennessee River Valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains is only made better on our unique two story veranda.

We offer easy access to a wide range of activities and sights such as the Highlands, local wineries, lakes and antique shops, Tallulah Gorge (The Grand Canyon of the East), Black Rock Mountain, Chatooga River and Sky Valley.

You will enjoy our Hemlock forest, Pre Civil War Spring House, walking trails, or rocking on the historic veranda. Whether you are looking for adventure or romance you will find our accommodations to be spacious, private, and comfortable. Come visit us and make your own history in the beautiful mountains of Northeast Georgia.
