Stovall Mill Covered Bridge - Sautee GA

Stovall Mill Covered Bridge over Chickamauga Creek is the only covered bridge of 13 remaining in White County.  It is located in the Sautee area.  The bridge is named for the early miller, Fred Stovall, Sr, who operated a gristmill, sawmill, and shingle mill powered by water turbine.  Built in 1895, the clear span bridge has timbers that are the largest in the state, spans 36.8 feet and rests on two stone piers.
White County Historical Society maintains the bridge. Visitors welcome.
